Position Summary

As Product Owner at HighByte, you will act as the voice of the customer and help drive product development of the HighByte Intelligence Hub, a leading solution in the global Industrial DataOps market. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy and development, translating roadmap priorities into well-defined, actionable work for development teams while maintaining a close feedback loop with product management and stakeholders.


You will own the product backlog day-to-day, working alongside development teams on sprint planning, story refinement, and acceptance, while building a working understanding of the industrial environments, Intelligence Hub solutions, and OT/IT integration challenges of our end users. You will be a key voice in discovering product gaps, advocating for customers, and prioritizing product updates based on business value, technical feasibility, and strategic goals.


Essential Functions

  • Maintain the product backlog in close partnership with product management and development teams, ensuring stories are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development
  • Collaboratively create, refine, and break down user stories into actionable tasks; review completed work against defined acceptance criteria and business objectives
  • Serve as the primary voice of the customer in the product development process—acting as a liaison between product management and the development team, gathering feedback, managing expectations, and balancing competing priorities
  • Maintain an understanding of customer needs and market trends to inform decisions on relevance, scope, and usability
  • Actively participate in product planning, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and R&D standups to guide development and track progress


Skills

  • Curious and eager to learn new technical concepts, technologies, and customer environments
  • Confident presenting technical concepts and uncovering customers' business challenges
  • Collaborates effectively across teams and departments to support the delivery of industry-leading product capabilities
  • Comfortable making pragmatic prioritization decisions and navigating trade-offs with limited information
  • Self-motivated with a natural inclination toward building relationships
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and industrial technology—PLC, DCS, SCADA, historians, MES, CMMS/EAM, QMS/LIMS, PLM — is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with enterprise technology—ERP, streaming, databases, data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT, messaging, middleware, or cloud services—is a strong plus



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field
  • 5 years of professional experience
  • Experience working on an enterprise software product with agile development process is a plus
  • Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, or operational technology (OT) environments as a practitioner or through customer-facing work is a plus
