About Us
Highbridge Voices is a nonprofit organization in the South Bronx dedicated to inspiring excellence in the lives of children through music education and academic support. For over 30 years, we have provided, high-quality choral and academic programming to students in our community.
We are currently seeking Group Leaders for our Brilla Pax Friday Afterschool Music Program, where students in grades K–8 engage in music, enrichment, and academic activities.
Position Summary
The Group Leader is responsible for leading and supervising a group of students during the Friday afterschool program. This role requires energy, patience, and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and positive environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage a group of students in grades K–8 during afterschool programming
- Lead structured activities, including music, arts, academic enrichment, and recreation
- Ensure student safety and maintain a supportive, positive atmosphere
- Assist with transitions between program areas (music, academics, arts, recreation)
- Support teaching staff and program leadership as needed
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Assist with program setup and cleanup
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college students encouraged to apply)
- Experience working with children in afterschool, camp, school, or community settings
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage groups of children with patience and consistency
- Passion for youth development, education, and the arts
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Schedule & Compensation
- Fridays Only, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Hourly Pay of $17.00
