Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Low Voltage Technician to oversee and execute complex low voltage systems installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role requires a strong technical background in security, surveillance, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems, along with leadership skills to guide a team of technicians. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of system design, schematics, and NEC standards, ensuring all projects meet safety and quality standards. Duties
- Lead the installation, configuration, and servicing of low voltage systems such as CCTV, security alarms, sensors, fire alarms, and telecommunication networks.
- Interpret and develop detailed schematics and system design documents to ensure accurate implementation of projects.
- Manage field service operations, including troubleshooting system issues remotely or on-site using remote access software and hand tools.
- Coordinate cabling, wiring, and power tool usage to ensure efficient setup of security systems and surveillance equipment.
- Conduct system testing to verify functionality and compliance with NEC standards and client specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians during project execution.
- Engage in alarm system sales support by assessing client needs and recommending suitable solutions.
- Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols related to electrical experience, construction standards, locksmithing practices, and security regulations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or lead technician specializing in low voltage systems such as CCTV, security alarms, fire alarms, sensors, IDS, or surveillance systems.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking, computer hardware, remote access software, schematics, system design principles, NEC codes, and telecommunication standards.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for cabling and installation tasks.
- Familiarity with security system integration including alarm sales processes and locksmithing techniques.
- Experience working in construction environments or field service roles with a focus on low voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics accurately and implement complex wiring layouts.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for resolving issues related to surveillance cameras (CCTV), sensors, IDS, fire alarm systems, and related components.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high-quality work standards.
- Valid experience working with NEC regulations governing low voltage electrical installations.
