Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain a variety of precision machining equipment, including manual lathes and milling machines, to produce high-quality components. Your expertise in blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and mechanical knowledge will ensure that parts meet strict specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and passionate about precision manufacturing. Responsibilities
· Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures.
· Load/unload parts of various lengths/diameters onto machines with overhead craning.
· Accurately measure and record product dimensions using micrometers, calipers and measuring tape.
· Maintain, clean and perform routine basic maintenance to manual lathes.
· Determine loading requirements to rig material for lifting
· Occasionally operate mobile equipment (e.g. forklifts)
· Use common hand/power tools (grinders, wrenches, etc.)
· Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
· Work mandatory overtime as required.
· Report to work regularly and on time.
· Willingly learn new duties
· Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
Qualifications/Skills
· Thorough understanding of machining fundamentals (Speeds, feeds, tooling)
· Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other inspection tools effectively.
· Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during machining processes
· Proven experience operating manual lathes in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical principles relevant to precision machining.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
