We are currently seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for the Summer 2026.
Position Overview
The Structural Engineering Intern will work within the Engineering Design group to assist engineers, technicians and managers with a variety of engineering projects. These projects may include structural analysis, design, checking and/or detailing for: shop fabrication fixtures and lifting assemblies; design work for the physical plant facility; structural analysis for shipping of steel members; bridge field erection; welding engineering; engineering survey/metrology of steel bridges, concrete structures or components. Assignments will include work in an office setting, structural steel fabrication shop and in the field.
Qualifications
This is a full-time hourly, in office (non-remote) position. Must have own transportation. For candidates living more than forty-five miles from Lancaster City, lodging package may be offered at HR discretion. Session duration is flexible, but ideally the candidate will be available to work mid-March through early/mid-September. Vacation excluded but one week time optional time off will be considered at supervisor’s discretion depending on production needs.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate college/university pursuing a degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering or other relevant area of study are preferred
- Preference for rising senior at time of internship
- Previous experience in a trade, steel fabrication, or construction manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation or 3D modeling detailing software
- Structural analysis software experience is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledge and experience in surveying is beneficial
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior completion of Statics, Dynamics, Material Science or Strength of Materials
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people from shop and field coworkers to senior management
- Interest in field or facility engineering work
- Minimum GPA: 3.0 (with a minimum of a B in Statics/Dynamics
