What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flagging Department Supervisor position at High Star Traffic, Inc.?
The Flagging Department Supervisor is mentored by and assists the Flagging Department Manager to learn all aspects of the traffic control industry. The flagging department supervisor manages jobs to ensure contractor, motorist, and employee safety, as well as job profitability.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Corrects and approves the field personnel times for submission to Payroll daily.
Approves, adjusts/corrects, and submits Field Logs and Work Orders from the previous day.
Creates crew schedules and equipment for jobs daily.
Lead, manage, and hold flagging laborers accountable.
Creates work orders and schedules daily rental deliveries and pickups.
Performs and submits take-offs for Project Managers as needed and requested.
Follow up with the customer as needed to resolve P.O., job number, signature, or quantity issues with work orders.
Communicates regularly with field personnel to resolve issues and adjust schedules as needed.
Maintain open lines of communication with other departments.
Performs site audits as needed.
Handle weekend emergency calls during a dispatch rotation.
Other projects and initiatives that drive organizational goals and results.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
This position will work closely with the Flagging Department Manager with overseeing the Laborers for flagging.
Education, Certifications & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent is preferred, or at least 2 years in Heavy Highway Construction, Traffic Control, or related field
Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite required and construction software preferred.
Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to obtain a For Hire endorsement.

This position will work in an office setting but may travel to off-site locations and therefore require wearing all PPE depending on circumstance which may include dust mask, safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, high-visibility safety vest and/or safety pants and/or steel toed footwear. At times client contract driven PPE may also be required.
