Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy trucks.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, and hydraulic system servicing to prevent downtime.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet operational needs.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform wheel alignments or shocks & struts replacements to enhance vehicle handling and safety.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive heavy equipment mechanics background with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of customizing or repairing equipment components.
- Strong knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working with power tools or performing tire service; attention to detail in alignment and vehicle maintenance tasks.
