POSITION TITLE: Special Education Teacher (Low Incidence Classroom)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of Special Education
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 contracted days (beginning 2025-2026 school year)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- PA Special Education Certification (Secondary) or Special Education K-12
- Highly Qualified Teacher
- Understanding of: Applied Behavioral Analysis, Functional Behavioral Assessment, and Positive
- Behavioral Support Plans
- Experience with students with Special Needs
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Completion of IEP and Reevaluation documentation
- Ability to provide one to one and small group social skills instruction
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to collaborate with staff across building setting, BCBA, and administrators
- Ability to develop individualized student goals based on needs
- Progress monitor goals
- Provide small/large group instruction
- Collaboration and support provided to team regarding student academic, functional, and behavior progress
- Knowledge of secondary level learners
