Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Reports to: Site Principal, Site RN, Health Services Coordinator
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for a current Practical Nurse License and CPR certificate.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: Support excellence in student learning by functioning as a member of the healthcare team in the school setting.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Perform delegated Nursing Care Skills as appropriate for a Licensed Practical Nurse in compliance with the OK Nurse Practice Act and Jenks Public Schools Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain impeccable Infection Control Practices in all school environments.
- Demonstrate effective verbal, written and electronic communication skills with students, teachers, patrons and other health clinics.
- Document and maintain student health information in a confidential and timely manner utilizing JPS approved systems.
- As necessary, travel to and from school with students in District vehicles.
- Participate in Nursing Collaboration and implement changes as indicated.
- Participate in professional education opportunities as provided by both the District and the community.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Nine (9) month classified hourly contract
