TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Stipend in accordance with EDR contract as stated in the PEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
DESCRIPTION: Pennridge School District is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to serve as an Assistant Coach for our Boys Basketball program. This role supports the Head Coach in providing leadership, mentorship, and instruction to student-athletes while promoting a positive, inclusive team culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Head Coach with planning and leading practices and competitions.
- Support the development of student-athletes’ skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Promote academic achievement and personal growth among athletes.
- Assist with supervision and safety of all team members during activities.
- Help manage equipment and maintain team standards of conduct.
- Model positive behavior and represent the school in a professional manner.
- Follow all school, district, league, and state athletic association rules.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some coaching or playing experience in the sport (preferably at the high school level).
- Basic understanding of the game, rules, and strategy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and school staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- NFHS coaching certification or willingness to obtain.
- Experience working with youth or student-athletes.
- Familiarity with school athletic program policies and procedures.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Physical and Clearances must be dated within the last 12-months. TB test within the last 90-days.
