What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flex Lead Support position at High School Extension Program?
Description of Service Opportunity:
Flex is the asynchronous component of the High School Extension Program and services students who need a self-paced, independent approach to learning. The Flex Lead will have the following responsibilities associated with the Flex Program:
Observing Flex teachers and their classrooms in person or through video, and providing feedback and troubleshooting for ongoing issues identified in monthly Flex meetings. Observations will happen twice per semester per teacher, and include a reflection with the teacher to discuss their goals and challenges. Additional work outside of the classroom will be to research solutions and help create implementation plans for new strategies to improve the Flex experience. Leading our Flex team and organizing and planning monthly meetings to check in on student progress, address housekeeping items, and tackle any behavioral issues.
Creating materials as needed to support flex teachers, such as presentations for the start of the year, activities to use during class, and implementation of our buddy system to increase socioemotional development in the Flex Classroom.
Creating professional development opportunities for Flex Teachers to expand their curriculum development skills, implement school identified strategies for reading and writing proficiency into the classroom and create consistency across all Flex classrooms. Hosting 1-2 professional development meetings for Flex teachers throughout the school year.
Ensuring that all deadlines are met by Flex teachers including weekly grading, updating of the attendance, grade trackers and monthly communications home.
Requirements:
Familiarity with HSEP Students and Staff
Length of Contract:
September 14, 2026 through June 18, 2027
Contract Amount
Not Exceed $3500.00
Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement
or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exempt employee and have worked more than
40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours
