Program & Location: New Bedford Outpatient

Education: Independently licensed Behavioral Health Clinician, including: LICSW/LMHC/LMFT

Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000 (experience and education dependent)

Status: Full Time or Part time

Schedule: Start time can be discussed during week, shift ends at 8pm except Saturday, Tuesday thru Saturday(8am - 12pm)

High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Outpatient substance use disorder and mental health services are located across Southeastern Massachusetts in Brockton, Middleborough, New Bedford, Plymouth, and Taunton. These services are available during the day, as well as evenings. We offer individual, group, family services, and medication management to address diverse clinical needs. An interdisciplinary team of professionals includes licensed social workers, clinicians, psychiatrists, and psychologists.

Clinician Qualifications

  • Independently licensed Behavioral Health Clinician, including: LICSW/LMHC/LMFT
  • Master/Doctoral degree in Human Services related field such as psychology or social work.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of behavioral health counseling experience.

Clinician Requirements

  • Must always present as courteous and professional.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion:
  • Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner.
  • TB screening
  • Certification in the HPTC approved de-escalation program
  • Strong and effective verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPTC`s electronic medical records
  • Knowledge of major clinical therapeutic models and behavioral health best practice
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Clinician Duties & Responsibilities

  • Crisis intervention;
  • Maintain assigned caseload; Providing direct care to patients/residents – including assessments, individual counseling, discharge and aftercare planning, treatment plans and updates, weekly progress notes, daily groups facilitation, group note completion, and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments;
  • Making referrals when appropriate;
  • Responsible for each assigned patients/residents’ medical records. All records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely manner;
  • Responsible connecting patients/residents with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the resident and his/her family access services when appropriate;
  • Communicating/involving family in treatment at patients’ request;
  • Attend and participate in all facility meetings, case conferences, Treatment Team meetings (MDT), and mandatory trainings, as directed by the Clinical Director;
  • Responsible for continued education in the field of substance use, mental health and related courses;
  • Always utilize standards precautions;
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient’s rights;
  • Completion of all required external clinical communications including: court/DCF/DMH monthly compliance reports, evaluation summaries, other requested external documentation;
  • Ability to provide clinical services through in-person and telehealth modalities;
  • Seek opportunities for clinical growth through certification;
  • Maintain professional license in good standing;
  • Responsible for contacting the insurance company for authorization, as needed;
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient’s rights;
  • Provide supervision to program staff and maintain supervisory notes;
  • Participate on assigned committees and prepare reports as needed
  • Coordinate with other departments/facilities to enhance and ensure quality care
  • Preparation of reports and correspondence in response to licensing and accreditation boards
  • Insures confidentiality according to 42 CFR part 2 and HIPAA regulations
  • After-hours/on-call program support for patient clinical emergencies and other program urgent needs on a rotating basis with Clinical Director.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Site Director and/or COO.

Any compensation range provided is an estimate based on current market data. The actual offer may fall above or below this range, depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, and geographic location.
