Clinician - Criminal Justice Services

Location & Program: Criminal Justice Services - Brockton, MA

Licensure & Education: Master's Degree, Independent License (LADC1, LICSW or LMHC) preferred

Salary: Starting at $63,000 annually (education, experience, & licensure dependent)

Status: Full Time; primarily Monday-Friday; flexible schedule required to meet the needs of the program; some remote possibility for up to 8hrs weekly

About Us

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Clinician Responsibilities

  • Must always present as courteous and professional;
  • Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certification necessary for the performance of the position;
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks;
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion;
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO Electronic Health Record (EHR);
  • Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner;
  • An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs;
  • Understand and maintain therapeutic boundaries;
  • Reinforce rules in a respectful manner;
  • Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations;
  • TB/Flu and Covid-19 Assessment;
  • Annual Completion of the HPAO crisis de-escalation program;
  • CPR Certification;
  • Successful completion of all trainings upon hire and annually as required.

Clinician Duties And Responsibilities

  • Crisis intervention;
  • Maintain assigned caseload; Providing direct care to patients - including assessments, individual counseling, discharge and aftercare planning, treatment plans and updates, weekly progress notes, daily groups facilitation, group note completion, and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments;
  • Making referrals when appropriate;
  • Responsible for each assigned patients' medical records. All records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely manner;
  • Responsible for connecting patients with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the patient and their family access services when appropriate;
  • Communicating/involving family in treatment at patients' request;
  • Attend and participate in all unit, facility meetings, case conferences, Treatment Team meetings, and mandatory trainings, as directed by the Program Director;
  • Responsible for continued education in the field of substance use, mental health and related courses;
  • Always utilize standards precautions;
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient's rights.

Clinician Qualifications

  • Masters degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field; clinical psychology, education-counseling, medicine, psychology, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, social work.
  • Minimum of one year supervised substance use and/or mental health disorder counseling experience preferred;
  • Independent License (LADC1, LICSW, or LMHC) preferred.
  • Minimum of (3) years of clinical supervisory experience; post licensure;
  • (5) years of behavioral health experience;
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple programs and staff;
  • Experience with EHR systems;
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
