POSITION PURPOSE
High Plains Farm Credit is currently recruiting an Accountant to participate in the accounting and financial reporting function of the Association. This position would report directly to the Vice President - Controller with responsibilities including, but not limited to, initiating and supporting wire and ACH activity, various reconciliations and discrepancy investigation, processing same-day check requests in accordance with internal controls, and assisting others with appropriate General Ledger data entry when needed.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Process Online Banking activity, including outgoing payments (wires, ACHs, NFTs) and same-day check requests.
- Indexes Online Banking transactions into the designated repository for accurate documentation.
- Supports general ledger (G/L) data entry and reconcilements.
- Maintains positive working relationships and assist team members as needed.
- Contributes to other accounting and financial reporting projects as assigned.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS
- Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Agriculture or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Strong analytic, organizational, problem solving, communication and computer skills.
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Internal Controls.
