Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools to maintain high standards of cleanliness and floor care.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy cleaning supplies or furniture while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, restocking supplies, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting issues requiring professional attention.
- Follow safety procedures diligently to ensure a secure working environment during overnight shifts.
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning techniques.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects safely and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting maintenance issues.
- Prior custodial or porter experience is preferred; additional skills in facilities maintenance or residential painting are a plus.
