What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pro A/V Systems Consultant position at High Output, LLC?
About the Role
High Output is seeking a Pro A/V Systems Consultant - a hybrid role that combines sales capabilities with technical design expertise. In this role, you’ll meet with clients, assess needs, and develop solutions that blend audio, video, lighting, and control systems. You’ll not only design the systems but also build relationships, create proposals, and close projects, working with internal teams to deliver installations that exceed expectations.
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys both the client-facing side of sales and the hands-on technical detail of design and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage client relationships across various sectors, including education, performance, corporate, and worship spaces.
- Meet with clients, architects, and consultants to assess needs and site conditions.
- Translate requirements into designs, scopes of work, and budgets.
- Prepare proposals, RFP responses, and presentations that win projects.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and PMs to ensure feasibility and margin protection.
- Support field teams during project handoff and commissioning when needed.
- Achieve individual sales targets while maintaining strong technical accuracy.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in A/V integration, technical sales, or systems design.
- Proven ability to win and manage client accounts.
- Strong knowledge of A/V system design, signal flow, and common platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to balance sales activity (pipeline, proposals, closing) with technical design responsibilities.
- Proficiency in CAD/Visio or similar design tools preferred.
- CTS certification strongly preferred; CTS-D a plus.
Bonus Points
- Experience with Q-SYS, Dante, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, or Symetrix.
- Background in live production, performance spaces, or theatrical integration.
- Ability to produce single-line diagrams and rack elevations.
- Existing client network in New England or the Southeast.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary commission plan.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Paid time off and holidays.
- Professional development and certification support.
- A collaborative, no-drama culture.
- The chance to shape meaningful spaces where people learn, perform, and gather.
