Location: Alleghany County, NC High Meadows Country Club has a Food Runner/Expo position available.
- PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for assisting and providing friendly, courteous, efficient, and quality presentation of food and beverage service to all guests. The Food Runner serves as the liaison between the kitchen and waitstaff, ensuring clear and concise communication regarding meal service, timing, special requests, and dietary requirements. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the expeditor workspace. Will cross-train and support other areas of the club if needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist the chef with the prompt expedition of the food, ensuring the plates are clean, all condiments are supplied, and the presentation is appealing.
- Run all food items from the kitchen to the dining room.
- Set up and break down the condiment station.
- Possess effective communication and time management skills.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to prioritize.
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of our menu.
- Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen and all kitchen storage areas.
- Replenish kitchen inventory daily of items needed for service.
- A friendly and consistent manner with members, guests, and employees.
- Work as a team player.
- Assist servers with closing duties.
- Adhere to all safety and health procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dining Room Manager and Chef.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The ideal candidate will have worked in a restaurant setting for 1-2 years.
- All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to demonstrate a well-paced ability in limited space for up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to demonstrate a well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments on a timely basis.
- Work tasks are performed both indoors and outdoors.
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, and lift to 50 lbs., including, but not limited to, lifting trays of food or food items on a regular and continuing basis.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Adheres to all safety rules and guidelines per High Meadows,
OSHA, state and federal law requirements.
