What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Designer position at High Life LLC?
We are looking for a talented Technical Designer to support our Activewear business. Our ideal candidate should be a team player with strong knowledge of the Activewear market, possesses excellent attention to detail and can be flexible in a fast-paced working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and lead or support fit sessions, ensuring fit, sizing, construction and quality is consistency achieved in line with standards. Evaluate garments to determine compliance of specs.
- Communicate with vendors for tech pack questions; Provide appropriate recommendations in collaboration with cross functional teams on matters pertaining to specs, construction. Serves as a problem-solving technical expert.
- Manage and communicate product fit changes in timely manner to ensure workflow maintain and within related systems.
- Track and manage samples to ensure seasonal deadlines are met.
- Partner with Design to establish fit blocks. Maintain core fit library for brand in 2D or 3D, fit samples, Block libraries.
- Support the creation of development from initial concept through pre-production samples.
- Review graded nested patterns for final production approval in 2D or 3D, including physical samples where applicable by brand; Communicate with the Technical Design Manager when issues are found; responsible for correction of graded nested pattern and communication back to the vendors to ensure clear understanding of corrections needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Able to work in a hybrid environment, which may/will require working in person, in-office for a portion of the week, based on the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in Technical Design or related field
- Experience in garment construction, pattern making, fitting, and specs. Experience with performance apparel a major plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Illustrator, 3D-software
- Experience and/or strong desire to learn Gerber Pattern Design and 3D CLO Software
Annual salary range starting at $85,000.
