High Lantern Group (HLG) is a strategic positioning and reputation management consultancy focused on developing early-stage strategy and communications for some of the most iconic brands and dozens of notable public and private organizations.
We are seeking a talented and hands-on Design Director to join our team in Atlanta. In this role, the Design Director will execute design on behalf of HLG and its clients and oversee creative vision and branding for the firm.
This role will play a vital part in the design and production of client-facing communications materials ranging from narrative decks and white papers to infographics and brand assets as well as support internal marketing and business development initiatives.
The ideal candidate has 5-9 years of design experience, including time at a leading creative agency and/or in-house with a brand focused firm, and is eager to roll up their sleeves and grow with a fast-paced, collaborative team.

Responsibilities
- Develop materials that support client communications strategies across a range of industries and project types
- Design and produce high-quality visual communications, including PowerPoint decks, white papers, infographics, and marketing collateral
- Oversee creative vision and branding for HLG, while collaborating closely with the Director leading marketing efforts
- Support the development and refinement of internal firm collateral, including service offering one-pagers, marketing content, and branded templates
- Work across the firm to support a variety of design needs from multiple client-facing teams
- Manage HLG’s design Independent Contractors (ICs)
- 5-9 years of relevant design experience, including time at a creative agency or in-house with a major brand
- Ability to translate strategy into compelling visual communications to support client goals
- Strong layout, production, and visual storytelling skills across formats and channels
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), PowerPoint, and basic web/brand design principles
- Experience developing and producing both digital and print-ready materials
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working independently, yet highly collaborative in a team environment
- Eagerness to grow with and contribute to a high-performance, entrepreneurial firm
- This role is based in the Atlanta office; in-office presence is required Tuesday through Thursday
- Candidates must submit a design portfolio along with their resume to be considered
