Essential Functions
- Unloads railcars using a gravity fed pneumatic system that transfers cement powder into silos.
- Operates a Trackmobile to position loaded cars over the unloading area and moves empty cars into the outbound staging tracks.
- Keeps work area/equipment and railroad tracks clean and free of debris.
- Performs routine equipment maintenance and assists with facility/property maintenance.
- Operates a computer-based program and PLC controlled loading system to load trucks with cement from the silos previously transferred from railcars.
- Operates a truck tractor to hook/unhook and load extra tank trailers with cement powder and position them for hookup by returning trucks with empty trailers.
- Must be willing to work according to the company's product demands.
- Communicates with others within the company on inventory and day-to-day operations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations.
- Responsible for reporting all incidents/injuries to Human Resources soon as they occur.
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Employment Requirements/Qualifications
- Possession of a valid driver license, preferred
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Knowledge of office systems, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel; other industry specific computer programs
- Ability to communicate well with coworkers and work as a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
- General industrial maintenance/repair knowledge a plus
- Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, twist, frequently lift up to 50 lbs., stretch
- Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, Saturdays and nights, may be required
Working Conditions
- Works outside much of the shift, 8-12 hours per day depending on schedule
- Exposure to various weather conditions ranging from extreme heat and cold, rain, snow, ice and wind
- Exposure to all types of terrain ranging from uneven, slippery, and soft ground
