About the Opportunity

We are partnering with an top high frequency trading shop that is seeking a Software Engineer to develop scalable applications, analytical tools, and data-driven platforms.

This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects involving large datasets, backend engineering, distributed systems, and modern application development.

The ideal candidate enjoys building production-quality software, solving complex data problems, and working closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using Python and/or Java.
• Build analytical tools, dashboards, and applications that transform complex datasets into actionable insights.
• Develop and optimize backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines.
• Work with large-scale datasets, relational databases, and modern data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and overall system architecture.
• Contribute to the design and development of new platforms while enhancing existing systems.
• Take ownership of projects throughout the software development lifecycle, from initial design through production deployment.

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming experience with Python and/or Java.
• Experience designing, building, and supporting production-level applications.
• Understanding of backend development, APIs, and software architecture.
• Experience working with databases, data-intensive applications, or data processing systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate effectively with technical teams.

Preferred / Additional Experience

Experience with any combination of the following would be beneficial:

• Distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
• Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized applications.
• React, JavaScript, or modern frontend frameworks.
• PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or comparable database technologies.
• Data pipelines, ETL processes, and large-scale data platforms.
• Parquet, Hadoop, or similar data storage and processing technologies.
• Cloud infrastructure and modern deployment practices.
• Financial services, capital markets, quantitative systems, or risk analytics.
