High Desert Medical Group is seeking a full-time High Risk Clinic Coordinator. They will be responsible for coordination in the High-Risk Clinic with HDMG members when discharged from Acute/Skilled Nursing Facilities, or who are enrolled in Case Management programs.
Summary of Duties:
- Answer telephone calls utilizing proper phone etiquette, using first name and suite location, and transfer calls when necessary.
- Process referrals/authorizations and notifying members accordingly.
- Request/file medical records into patient charts as needed.
- Verify health plan eligibility.
- Smile and make eye contact when greeting patients and other members.
- Take accurate messages and relay them to the appropriate person.
- Check patients in to their scheduled appointments.
- Schedule same day and follow up appointments.
- Cancel and reschedule patients as necessary.
- Interview patients, verifying and updating all information to complete demographic and billing statistics.
- Utilize specific provider and group appointment guidelines when booking appointments.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance to patient privacy by observing HIPAA's and HDMG's guidelines.
- Assist High Risk Clinic and Case Management with special projects and reports as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $21.42 - $28.56/year, non-exempt; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Requirements:- High school graduate or equivalent
- One year of experience in medical office work preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Knowledge of insurance plans, both HMO and PPO, preferred
- Bilingual preferred
- Ability to complete and prioritize tasks to meet all given deadlines and productivity goals
- Ability to responsibly handle matters of a confidential nature
- Ability to work in a multi-task, high volume environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
