Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Shop Service Technician role based in Nampa, ID. The Shop Service Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Bobcat compact equipment and related product lines in a shop environment. Daily tasks include inspecting machines, identifying mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, ordering and installing parts, and completing repair orders accurately and on time. The role also involves conducting preventative maintenance services, test-running equipment after repairs, and ensuring work areas, tools, and equipment are kept clean, safe, and organized. The technician collaborates with service advisors and parts personnel, communicates clearly with customers about repair status when needed, and follows all safety, environmental, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in Maintenance & Repair and general Maintenance of heavy, compact, or agricultural equipment.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
- Customer-focused approach with solid Customer Service skills, including clear communication and professional demeanor when interacting with equipment operators or service staff.
- Exposure to or understanding of working efficiently, documenting work performed, and coordinating with the service team.
- Technical or vocational training in diesel or heavy equipment technology. Willing to interview for potential hire of candidates that are close to graduating their training.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders, and to use computer-based service and parts systems.
- Capability to lift and move heavy components, stand for extended periods, and safely operate tools, forklifts, and shop equipment.
- Previous experience in a dealership, rental, construction, or similar service environment is beneficial.
