As a Service/Diesel Technician, you'll inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of construction and rental equipment, ensuring every machine leaves our shop ready to perform safely and reliably.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues on diesel-powered equipment.

  • Utilize manufacturer service software and diagnostic tools.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and company repair standards to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Build positive relationships with customers by providing professional, dependable service.
  • Work closely with teammates to keep equipment repaired efficiently and minimize customer downtime.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Manager.
  • Exemplify the Total Equipment Core Values: Teamwork, Excellence, Passion, Integrity, and Customer First.

What You Bring

We're looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting mechanical problems and takes pride in fixing equipment the right way.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and compact construction equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues independently.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment safely.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to use electronic service software.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Diesel Technology or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience repairing diesel-powered construction or heavy equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on position requiring the ability to:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work in a shop environment.
