My client is a tiny, but EXPLODING aerospace/satelite focused company, developing mission-focused spacecraft and constellation designs, with a strong focus on innovative spacecraft architecture and onboard software. The team is made up of many high-pedigree, highly successful, driven and deeply experienced aerospace/satelite professionals: The CEO has had 5 successful startup exits in a row, and there are no signs this company will be any different. 🚀🚀🚀
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 years of flight software development experience.
- Mandatory hands-on RTOS or RTEMS experience (preferably across multiple real-time operating systems; C , Rust, or embedded C on custom avionics boards; non-FPGA).
- Proven background in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) algorithm implementation,
- Extensive Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testing and validation.
- Experience with mission/orbital analysis and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Experience developing flight software modules (C&DH, fault management, GNC, payload integration)
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Ability to lead complex software programs from concept through on-orbit operations.
- US Citizenship required (must hold or be eligible to obtain a security clearance).
NICE TO HAVE:
- Generally looking for people who have worked with FAA “178-B or 178-C, 178-D.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Startup experience, highly collaborative, non-dogmatic mindset
LOCATION:
This role is based in Boulder, Colorado, and is fully onsite.
SALARY:
Base salary is budgeted from $150,000 to $200,000 per year, plus approximately 0.5% in equity. They *may* consider up to $225,000 for the right candidate.
