Vice President – Multifamily
This is a rare opportunity to join a highly active and well-positioned multifamily investment firm. With well over $1 billion in AUM, the platform combines institutional-scale investment capabilities and sophistication with the agility and entrepreneurial environment of a smaller firm.
The Role
The Vice President will play a key role in the continued growth of the firm's multifamily investment platform, with responsibility spanning acquisitions, asset management, financing, and portfolio strategy.
Working directly with senior leadership, this individual will take significant ownership of evaluating and executing new investments while overseeing the performance and strategic direction of existing assets. The role is highly hands-on and is designed for someone who can operate independently, think like an owner, and drive investments from initial evaluation through execution and eventual disposition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the underwriting, due diligence, and evaluation of prospective multifamily acquisitions.
- Own and review complex financial models, including acquisition, financing, operating, and disposition assumptions.
- Drive acquisitions through the full transaction lifecycle, including initial evaluation, diligence, financing, closing, and transition into asset management.
- Partner directly with senior leadership on investment strategy, transaction execution, and major portfolio decisions.
- Oversee the financial and operational performance of existing investments, including performance against budgets, underwriting, and investment objectives.
- Work closely with property management and operating partners to develop and execute asset-level business plans.
- Identify opportunities to improve property performance, maximize value, and mitigate investment risk.
- Conduct detailed property, market, and industry analysis to identify acquisition opportunities and emerging trends across target markets.
- Lead the preparation of investment committee materials and provide clear recommendations regarding prospective investments.
- Support financing, refinancing, recapitalization, and disposition initiatives across the portfolio.
- Contribute to investor reporting, investment presentations, and other strategic initiatives across the platform.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior investment professionals as the team continues to grow.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 6–12 years of relevant real estate investment experience, with significant exposure to multifamily acquisitions and/or asset management.
- Transaction Experience: Demonstrated experience evaluating and executing multifamily investments through multiple stages of the transaction lifecycle.
- Financial Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Excel, DCF analysis, investment underwriting, and complex real estate financial modeling.
- Investment Judgment: Ability to independently evaluate opportunities, identify key risks and value drivers, and communicate an investment thesis to senior leadership.
- Leadership: Experience managing, mentoring, or reviewing the work of junior investment professionals is strongly preferred.
- Travel: Ability to travel less than 25% of the time to evaluate prospective investments and visit portfolio properties.
