ASSET DEVELOPMENT RESERVOIR ENGINEER

About the Company

If you're tired of watching good opportunities get buried under layers of approvals, waiting months for decisions that should take days, and spending more time defending ideas than executing them, this may be the role you've been looking for. This is an opportunity to own assets, not just analyze them. You'll have a direct hand in identifying new drilling and recompletion opportunities, influencing capital allocation, and helping determine where the company invests its next dollar. Your work won't disappear into a committee meeting. It will drive decisions.

About the Role

This isn't a reserves role. It isn't an A&D role. And it isn't a position where you're handed a list of projects and asked to optimize around the edges. You'll be responsible for finding the next opportunities. You'll dig into field histories, production trends, reservoir performance, pressure data, logs, and completion results to identify untapped recovery potential and new development targets. You'll build the technical and economic case, champion the opportunity, and work alongside geology and operations to move projects from concept to execution. The leadership team believes the people closest to the data should have a meaningful voice in the decisions. You'll work directly with experienced leaders who value technical expertise, move quickly when opportunities are identified, and trust their engineers to do their jobs without constant oversight.

What Sets This Company Apart

Large public operators often talk about empowerment. Then they require six meetings, three committees, and a dozen approvals before anything happens. That's not how this company operates. We're privately held, financially disciplined, and focused on creating long-term value. Decisions are made by people who understand the assets, not by layers of management removed from the work. The leadership team is aligned, accessible, and willing to act when the technical case is clear. The team runs lean by design. Everyone contributes. Everyone is accountable. Good ideas are recognized based on merit, not title. If you've ever wanted to see your work directly influence the direction of a company, you'll find that opportunity here.

What You'll Do

  • Identify overlooked development and exploitation opportunities through detailed reservoir evaluation and field-wide analysis.
  • Build Plans of Depletion that maximize recovery and create actionable development strategies for producing assets.
  • Analyze logs, pressure data, production performance, reservoir mechanics, and well histories to uncover untapped potential.
  • Generate and mature drilling, recompletion, and optimization projects from concept through economic justification and execution.
  • Develop structure maps, reservoir interpretations, and Nodal Analysis to support investment decisions and field development plans.
  • Partner closely with geology and operations to prioritize opportunities and direct capital toward the highest-value projects.

Who You Are

You don't wait for someone to hand you a project—you find opportunities yourself and build the case for pursuing them. You're comfortable making recommendations and standing behind them when capital decisions are on the line. You communicate directly, explain technical concepts clearly, and aren't afraid to challenge assumptions when the data supports it. You thrive in environments where accountability is high and bureaucracy is low. You have experience evaluating reservoirs, identifying development opportunities, and translating subsurface insights into executable projects.

The Bottom Line

If you're ready to move from being one voice in a large organization to being a key decision-maker whose work directly shapes asset value and company growth, this is the kind of opportunity that doesn't come along often.
