Position Summary:
High Country Behavioral Health (HCBH) is seeking a highly motivated and versatile individual to fill a critical Office Assistant and Medical Assistant dual role. This position is split approximately 50/50 between essential administrative/front-office duties and clinical support tasks within our integrated behavioral health setting.
The OA/MA reports to the Administrative Director for administrative and financial functions, and the Health Services Administrator for all clinical and medical duties.
Key Responsibilities (50% Admin / 50% Clinical)
Administrative & Front Office Focus
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting clients and caregivers in a professional manner.
- Manage patient flow, appointment scheduling, and coordinate external referrals.
- Perform essential financial tasks, including collecting co-payments, preparing deposits, and updating financial spreadsheets.
- Handle insurance verification and documentation to ensure accurate billing and collections.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards for all client and organizational records.
Clinical & Medical Support Focus
- Perform clinical support tasks, including obtaining and recording patient vital signs.
- Assist in the collection of clinical specimens (e.g., UA, cheek swabs, blood draws) as required for HCBH Medical.
- Assist with quick-reference testing (e.g., pregnancy tests) and administering injections within the OMA's scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper records for all clinical encounters.
- Communicate effectively with clinical leadership and staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and switch focus effectively between administrative and clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and experience operating standard office and/or medical equipment.
- Knowledge of medical billing, financial recordkeeping, and general accounting principles is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and professionalism in all patient and staff interactions.
- Successful completion of HCBH pre-employment screening and background check is mandatory.
