What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Sales Professional position at Higdon Insurance Group?
Licensed Sales Professional
We’re looking for a Licensed Sales Professional to join our Allstate agency. This is a sales position for someone who enjoys talking with people, is comfortable asking for the business, and wants an opportunity to earn more based on their performance.
You’ll work with customers who are looking for insurance, help them understand their options, and put together coverage that fits their needs. A big part of the job is following up with leads, quoting multiple products, and turning those conversations into new customers.
This position includes a base salary of $40,000 a year plus commission and performance incentives. Strong producers have the opportunity to significantly increase their income based on the amount and quality of business they write.
We want our compensation plan to reward producers who not only write new business, but also build complete customer relationships through multiple policies and strong retention.
What You’ll Do
- Talk with prospective customers by phone, text, email, and in person
- Quote and sell auto, home, renters, landlord, umbrella, and other personal insurance products
- Ask the right questions to understand what the customer actually needs instead of simply giving them the cheapest quote
- Look for opportunities to bundle policies and provide better overall protection.
- Follow up consistently with leads and customers who have received quotes.
- Work leads provided by the agency as well as develop opportunities through referrals and your own relationships
- Explain coverage and pricing in a way that customers can easily understand
- Ask for the sale and work through objections when a customer is undecided
- Keep accurate notes and follow-up activities in our agency systems
- Meet individual sales goals and contribute to the overall growth of the agency
- Provide a good customer experience from the first conversation through the sale
What We’re Looking For
We don’t expect someone to know everything on day one, but we do want someone who is motivated, competitive, dependable, and willing to learn.
The right person for this position:
- Business or Marketing Degree is preferred, but not required.
- Has an active Property Casualty insurance license, or is willing to obtain one
- Is comfortable making and receiving a high volume of phone calls
- Enjoys sales and isn’t afraid to ask someone to buy
- Communicates well and builds rapport with people quickly
- Can stay organized and consistently follow up with prospects
- Is coachable and willing to improve
- Has a positive attitude and works well with a team
- Takes ownership of their results instead of waiting on someone else to make things happen
Insurance experience is helpful, but sales ability, work ethic, and personality are just as important to us.
