Field Service Heavy Equipment Technician



Location: Salem, OH


Salary: $35–$45/hour


Shift: Full-time, Day Shift



About the Role



We are looking for an experienced Field Service Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. You will be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction and earthmoving equipment in the field at customer job sites.



Key Responsibilities


Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on equipment including:


Excavators (CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, John Deere, Link-Belt)


Dozers and track loaders (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere)


Wheel loaders and skid steers


Motor graders


Articulated and rigid dump trucks


Compactors and pavers


Backhoes and telehandlers


Scrapers and pipe layers


Perform preventive maintenance (oil, filters, fluids, belts, hoses)


Read and interpret service manuals and electrical schematics


Document repairs and parts usage accurately


Travel to customer job sites and work independently in the field



Requirements


3–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience


Strong diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems knowledge


OEM dealership experience preferred (CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, CASE, Hitachi, etc.)


High school diploma or technical certificate


Valid driver's license required
