The Hidenwood is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Part-Time Laundry Aide to join our Environmental Services team. The Laundry Aide plays an essential role in enhancing the comfort, dignity, and quality of life of our residents by ensuring that resident clothing, linens, towels, and community laundry are cleaned, handled, and returned accurately and efficiently. This position contributes to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while providing exceptional customer service to residents, families, and fellow team members.
What You Will Do as a Laundry Aide
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing, linens, and towels.
- Ensure resident clothing is properly labeled and returned to the appropriate resident.
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow infection prevention and infection control procedures when handling soiled laundry and linens.
- Inspect laundry for stains, damage, or repair needs, and report concerns to the supervisor.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of clean linens throughout the community.
- Keep the laundry room, equipment, carts, and work areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
- Monitor laundry supplies and notify the supervisor when inventory is running low.
- Practice the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and laundry products in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Respond promptly and courteously to resident requests and questions.
- Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Assist with housekeeping duties and special projects as assigned.
- Participate in required training, department meetings, and emergency preparedness activities.
Qualifications
- Previous laundry, housekeeping, hospitality, or healthcare experience is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment or a willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
