Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Dishwasher & Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This hybrid role keeps our kitchen clean, organized, and stocked with fresh ingredients so our cooks can focus on great food. It's a great entry point into the restaurant industry, with room to grow into a full cook position.
Responsibilities
Dishwashing & Kitchen Cleanliness
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly
- Operate and maintain the dishwasher and hand-wash station, following sanitation guidelines
- Keep the dish pit, sinks, and surrounding areas clean and organized throughout shifts
- Take out trash and recycling, and keep the kitchen free of clutter
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors as needed
- Restock clean dishware, glasses, and utensils for front-of-house and kitchen use
Food Prep
- Wash, peel, chop, and portion fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients
- Prepare basic components (sauces, dressings, batters, etc.) following recipes
- Label, date, and properly store prepped ingredients (FIFO rotation)
- Assist cooks with mise en place before and during service
- Monitor inventory of prepped items and flag when supplies are running low
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards (proper food handling, temperature control, cross-contamination prevention)
Qualifications
- 1 years of experience required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements
- Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
Schedule & Availability
- Full-time preferred
- Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend availability required
- Flexible scheduling based on business needs
Compensation
- $16–$22 per hour depending on experience
- Growth opportunities as the business expands
