Role Description
This is a full-time role for an Authorization Specialist, located in Houston, TX (remote option if not local). Responsibilities include managing the insurance authorization process, including obtaining approvals for therapy services, verifying eligibility and coverage, and maintaining accurate records. The Authorization Specialist will collaborate with clinical staff, communicate with insurance companies, and ensure all necessary authorizations are secured in a timely manner to support continued client care. Additionally, they may provide support to families by addressing coverage-related questions and concerns.
Qualifications
- Experience with insurance verification, authorizations, and navigating benefits policies
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, including data entry, documentation, and detail-oriented record-keeping
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with insurance providers, families, and team members
- Basic proficiency in office software and familiarity with electronic record systems
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Prior experience in health insurance coordination, or applied behavior analysis is a plus
- High school diploma is required
