Responsibilities
- Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Administer medications and treatments following established protocols and under supervision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and medical documentation standards.
- Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and behavioral health challenges.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques, infection control procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical records management.
Requirements
- Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification or equivalent licensure.
- Prior experience in long-term care facilities such as assisted living or nursing homes is highly preferred.
- Experience working in acute care settings like hospitals or Level I/II trauma centers is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS).
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for documentation purposes.
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift from 7am to 7pm with flexibility for overtime if needed.
