Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, assist with medical procedures, and support the nursing staff in delivering exceptional service to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans
- Provide support for patients with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or special needs
- Perform basic medical procedures such as IV insertion, catheter care, and wound dressing
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care for patients
- Educate patients and their families about health management and wellness strategies
- Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care coordination
Skills
Candidates should possess a variety of skills that enhance their ability to provide excellent patient care. Preferred skills include:
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks)
- Critical care experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support techniques
- Familiarity with geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and hospice care practices
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in home care settings
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations and manage acute pain effectively
