Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities designed specifically for residents in memory care settings, including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, and outings
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and mobility support during programs
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to develop individualized activity plans that meet each resident’s unique needs and preferences
- Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure consistent engagement and participation throughout the day
- Use effective communication skills to encourage participation and foster social interactions among residents
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during activities, promoting a positive and inclusive environment
- Maintain detailed records of resident participation, preferences, and progress to inform ongoing care strategies
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes with a focus on memory care or senior care is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, and aging issues counseling is essential
- Proven skills in event planning, recreational therapy, and working with individuals with disabilities or special needs are highly valued
- Experience assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living) within long-term care or home & community care settings is preferred
- Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to manage schedules effectively are critical for success in this role
