What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Utility Worker position at Hidden River Eating Disorder Treatment?
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts weekly
- Wednesday - Saturday Schedule
Role Description:
An experienced Kitchen Utility Worker is needed to join our residential eating disorder interdisciplinary treatment team. We provide intensive treatment services for girls and women with eating disorders. This is a position for a highly detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to follow culinary instructions. The best candidate will be eager to assist in kitchen operations and meal preparations while able to produce technically accurate food preparations.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory management: Receive shipments, unpack items, and monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability.
- Organization, Cleaning and Sanitation: Wash and store all dishes, cooking instruments, cutting boards, pots and pans; operate and maintain the dishwashing machines; empty trash and clean the kitchen and storage areas.
- Kitchen Support: Assist with basic food preparation tasks, help to portion and plate meals, snacks, and desserts, as well as transport food and supplies. Documentation skills are required. Will assist chefs with other tasks as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the interdisciplinary team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year cooks' helper/entry level food preparations experience (required)
- ServSafe Food Handlers certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Be 21 years of age or above (required)
- Valid driver's license and must be insurable on the company insurance (required)
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift heavy items approximately 60 lbs.
- Healthcare environment experience (preferred)
- Sound knowledge of proper food handling and food safety procedures.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to safely use all kitchen equipment and appliances.
We offer highly competitive wage base for the Kitchen Utility Worker role. Pay range is $19.00-$23.00/hour, depending on relevant work experience and level of education.
