HGO’s Masonry is a growing, quality‑driven contractor serving the Carolinas. We take pride in our workmanship, our crews, and the relationships we build -with clients and with each other. As we continue expanding, we’re seeking a strong Director of Operations to oversee our entire pumping division, including sales, scheduling, budgeting, and job execution. This role will lead and manage a fleet of eight pump trucks and about $2,5 M annual revenue, ensuring the operation runs safely, efficiently, and profitably.
The Role
This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in the office as well as the field, understands pump operations, and knows how to keep operators motivated and schedules running smoothly while keeping the division profitable. You’ll oversee daily pump service operations, and manage equipment readiness, coordinate job logistics, ensure our crews deliver exceptional service on every site. What You’ll Be Doing
- Overseeing daily pump service operations to ensure every job runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Managing and supporting pump operators through coaching, accountability, and clear expectations
- Coordinating dispatch, scheduling, and job logistics to maximize productivity and minimize downtime
- Monitoring equipment readiness, including maintenance, inspections, and DOT compliance for all eight pump trucks
- Conducting regular field visits to verify safe setup, job progress, operator performance, and customer satisfaction
- Troubleshooting operational issues such as access challenges, blockages, delays, or equipment concerns
- Leading your internal accounting team to ensure accurate billing, job costing, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Managing division profitability by tracking revenue, expenses, utilization, and operational efficiency
- Building strong relationships with contractors through clear communication, reliability, and professional service
- Supporting onboarding and training for new operators and administrative staff
- Reporting operational performance to leadership, including job activity, fleet usage, and financial metrics
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in concrete pump service or heavy equipment operations
- 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a construction or field‑operations environment
- Strong understanding of pump truck setup, safety protocols, DOT requirements, and job‑site logistics
- Proven ability to manage operators, dispatch, and field teams with accountability and clear communication
- Experience with budgeting, job costing, and operational financial oversight
- Ability to read and interpret job schedules, site plans, and contractor requirements
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills — able to adjust quickly to changing job‑site conditions
- Experience working with or supervising accounting or administrative teams
- Proficiency with scheduling systems, dispatch tools, and basic office software
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable working both in the office and in the field, including travel between job sites
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- $90,000 annually, but can vary based on experience
