What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant - Development Track position at Hickory Senior Living Management, LLC?
Staff Accountant (Development Track)
ABOUT US
We are a privately held, family-owned real estate investment and acquisition firm with a diversified portfolio spanning senior living communities, multi-family residential properties, and pharmacy operations. Backed by the long-term capital and commitment of a single ownership group, we pair the stability of an established company with the momentum of one that is actively growing its holdings.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Staff Accountant (Development Track) is built for a driven recent graduate who wants to develop a deep foundation in corporate accounting and grow into a future leader. Rather than being boxed into one narrow function, you will gain hands-on experience across our financial operations while working directly with, and learning from, our Chief Financial Officer.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Support core accounting functions, including AR, AP, and the month-end close.
• Assist with financial reporting across multiple entities and business lines.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Take on special projects with direct visibility to the executive team.
• Learn the financial and operational backbone of a diversified real estate portfolio.
WHY YOU'LL WANT TO JOIN US
• Direct mentorship. You will report to and work alongside the CFO, with meaningful access to senior leadership from day one.
• A real path forward. We are a growth company, and this role is designed to develop our next generation of leaders. Strong performers have a clear path to expanded responsibility and permanent, senior positions.
• Financial strength and stability. Significant private financial backing and a long-term ownership mindset mean we invest in our people and our future.
• Genuine balance. A full-time, on-site role with a true forty-hour work week — we believe you do your best work when your life outside of work is respected.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred; a related business degree with upper-level (300 ) accounting coursework will also be considered.
• Strong proficiency in Excel.
