Role Description
This position will direct and oversee the financial policies and accounting practices of a joint-venture
organization including three companies in the HVAC and distribution industry which service sixteen (16) states from multiple branch offices. These activities include directing and overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, tax and preparation for year-end audit. Will be actively involved in the day-to-day activities in the areas of general ledger, payroll, working capital, fixed assets, and inventory. Includes producing financial statements, maintaining accurate accounting records, implementing and maintaining internal controls to mitigate any risk to the financial assets of the company. Depended upon analyzing and assessing joint-venture accounting activities and implementing new policies to maximize efficiency of organization wide activities. This position reports to the CEO and will manage a direct team of 8-10 people.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop/maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage cash flow and distributions to ownership entity.
- Issue and complete timely financial statements, by company and ability to consolidate the group financial reporting from different company systems.
- Prepare sales tax provisions, payments, and tax reports ensuring tax compliance.
- Assess and analyze accounting activities to ensure GAAP compliance.
- Lead the annual budget process including creating a fiscal calendar for the coming year.
- Oversee and review A/P invoice approval, posting, and weekly check generation.
- Oversee and review A/R process including billing, cash application and collections.
- Coordinate annual accounting audit activities with outside auditors.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading accounting teams in multi-location or complex organizations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience leading organizational changes and managing multiple assignments simultaneously, including remote staff.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Significant experience in Microsoft Office (especially excel)
- Experience with ERP systems & implementations – ACUMATICA and SAGE are a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of professional travel.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- 10 Plus years of accounting management experience, including management of complex accounting operations.
