Job Title: Forklift Operator
Department: Shipping/Warehouse
Reports to: Shipping Manager
FLSA: Hourly
SUMMARY:
Assigned under the general supervision of the Shipping Manager.
This position performs multiple duties, including palletizing, shrink wrapping, order filling, and loading and unloading of
products. Qualified candidates should be physically capable of repetitive lifting, bending, and stooping and should have
previous work experience in a warehouse environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Ability to perform all job duties safely, accurately and efficiently.
- Responsible for the movement, verification, and recordkeeping of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintains protocols of cleanliness, accuracy, and customer service at all times.
- Complies with warehousing material handling and shipping requirements by the company’s HAACP and Food Safety Plans.
- Follows all security and safety procedures, follows all personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures and GMPs.
- Responsible for all document completeness and accuracy for all inbound or outbound loads.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team with a positive attitude.
- Safely drive and operate an electric pallet jack and a forklift.
- May be required to “fill in” for other positions when there is a need.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of one year working in a warehouse environment, preferably in the loading or unloading departments with forklift and electric pallet jack experience.
- Will train as necessary allowing ninety (90) days to reach and maintain minimum daily production standards.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and write English. Speaks effectively and communicates with others and allows satisfactory completion of all job tasks.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to perform basic math while performing job tasks including counting, addition, and subtraction.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and in situations where only limited experience may exist. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, full range of body motion to include lifting, twisting, bending reaching outward, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping.
- May be required to lift to 60 lbs.
- Stand on concrete surfaces, and can be exposed to indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to noise from equipment.
- Climb stairs
- Must have the ability to work in a refrigerated environment of 35 to 45 degrees F.
- The job is fast-paced and the ability to deal with stress is essential.
Fulltime regular positions that work Monday through Friday, generally work 8 hours per day, with minimal overtime. Travel is not required for this position.
