Summary
Seasonal Grounds Crew members support all aspects of baseball field preparation, maintenance, and game-day operations. This role requires physical stamina, teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, and repair the playing field before, during, and after games.
- Perform sod cutting, installation, mowing, trimming, and blower operation.
- Assist in infield, mound, bullpen, and home plate construction and maintenance.
- Water and mow turf; support daily grass care routines.
- Paint field markings including foul lines and batter’s boxes.
- Assist with tarp pulling during inclement weather.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance.
- Support non-game event setup as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head & Assistant Groundskeepers.
- Experience with hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows.
- Ability to operate lightweight motorized equipment safely.
- Working knowledge of sports field maintenance preferred.
- Must be able to work Opening Day and July 3rd.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for 5–8 hours.
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and integrity.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
