Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial records in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations
- Monitor transactions and accounts to ensure payments are current and processed efficiently
- Review and approve expense coding and bill pay transactions
- Reconcile and resolve monthly account issues
- Review credit card downloads and account coding for accuracy
- Prepare weekly and monthly journal entries
- Prepare commission statements and initial payroll registers
- Monitor employee receipt matching and expense documentation
- Assist with year-end 1099 processing and tax packages
- Support monthly and annual budgeting processes
- Review and manage AP specialist work to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist Accounting Manager and Controller/CFO with financial reporting and special projects
- Handle ad hoc accounting and financial projects as needed
Required
- 3 years of accounting or financial operations experience
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial record keeping
- Experience with AR, AP, reconciliations, and general ledger processes
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in construction or project-based accounting environments
- Experience supporting payroll processes or commission reporting
- Experience working with ERP or construction management software
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Full-time, W-2 employment
