We are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Defense Paralegal to join our dynamic team in our Alpharetta, GA office. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of workers’ compensation defense litigation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage defense litigation files from intake through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and settlement documents.
- Coordinate independent medical examinations (IMEs), vocational evaluations, and surveillance reports.
- Communicate with attorneys, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
- Prepare exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders for hearings and mediations.
- E-file documents with state workers’ compensation boards and courts.
- Track deadlines and maintain accurate case calendars.
Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or associate degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in workers’ compensation defense or insurance defense litigation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems (Caret Legal preferred).
- Strong knowledge of state workers’ compensation statutes and defense litigation procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
