What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Manager position at HICC Pet®?
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for end-to-end supply chain execution, ensuring product availability, cost efficiency, and operational scalability. This role owns planning, sourcing coordination, production timelines, logistics, and inventory health across domestic and international channels.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role suited for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments and can balance strategy with execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Inventory Management
- Own demand planning and inventory forecasting across Chewy, Petco, and wholesale channels
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support growth while minimizing excess, stockouts, and expirations
- Manage reorder points, safety stock, and lead times across SKUs
Sourcing & Production
- Coordinate with domestic and overseas manufacturing partners on production schedules and MOQs
- Monitor production progress and proactively resolve delays or quality risks
- Support cost optimization initiatives including COGS reduction and supplier negotiations
Logistics & Fulfillment
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics (ocean, air, domestic freight)
- Coordinate with 3PLs and fulfillment partners to ensure SLA adherence
- Oversee customs, import/export documentation, and compliance requirements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product to align supply with demand
- Support new product launches with accurate timelines and readiness planning
- Provide clear, data-driven updates to leadership on inventory, risks, and opportunities
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in supply chain, operations, or logistics (CPG / consumer goods preferred)
- Experience managing international suppliers and freight
- Strong understanding of demand planning, inventory management, and cost control
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment
