The Opportunity
This is a hunter-plus-farmer role. You will manage and grow an existing book of house accounts while actively identifying and pursuing new business. You will be on the road visiting customers and prospects, representing Hi-Tech Packaging to companies that need reliable, engineered packaging solutions.
This role is based out of our Stratford, CT facility and comes with real upside — a competitive base salary, a multi-tiered commission structure, and the opportunity to build a significant book of business over time. Top performers have a clear path to managing $2M–$3M in accounts within 3 years.
What You'll Do
Account Management
• Manage and develop an assigned portfolio of house accounts — building relationships, understanding needs, and driving growth
• Serve as the primary point of contact for your accounts, ensuring satisfaction and identifying upsell opportunities
• Monitor account health and proactively address issues before they become problems
New Business Development
• Identify, prospect, and close new accounts across target verticals including aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, and industrial manufacturing
• Develop and execute an outreach strategy to generate new leads and opportunities
• Reinstate lapsed or inactive accounts through targeted re-engagement
Marketing & Office Support
• Support outbound marketing efforts including email campaigns (Constant Contact) and other customer outreach
• Contribute ideas for new products, services, and market positioning
• Assist with order and item setup, production planning input, and internal coordination as needed
• Develop working knowledge of Hi-Tech's pricing strategy to operate with increasing autonomy over time
What We're Looking For
We are open to candidates at all experience levels — what matters most is drive, coachability, and the ability to build genuine relationships with customers. That said, the following backgrounds are particularly relevant:
• Experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development — ideally in packaging, manufacturing, industrial distribution, or adjacent fields
• Familiarity with industries such as aerospace, defense, medical devices, automotive, or precision manufacturing is a strong plus
• Comfortable on the road — you enjoy getting in front of customers, not just emailing them
• Strong communicator — written and verbal — who can represent Hi-Tech professionally at every touchpoint
• Self-starter who can manage a pipeline, prioritize their time, and stay organized without hand-holding
• Willing to roll up your sleeves — this is a small company where everyone contributes across functions
• Familiarity with CRM tools, email marketing platforms, or ERP systems is a plus but not required
