Your New Role

As a Senior Electrical Estimator in Portage, MI, you’ll own the full lifecycle of project estimating from scope reviews and takeoffs to bid strategies and proposal submission. You’ll be a key player in company growth, working with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure every estimate is competitive, accurate, and strategically sound.

  • Lead complex electrical estimating efforts for commercial, industrial, and low-voltage projects
  • Analyze construction documents, specs, and drawings to determine project scope
  • Perform detailed takeoffs for power distribution, lighting, and specialty systems
  • Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors, issue RFQs, and evaluate pricing
  • Coordinate bid strategies with management, identifying risks and value-engineering options
  • Mentor junior estimators, sharing knowledge and sharpening team capabilities
  • Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client presentations
  • Maintain historical cost data and refine estimating tools and procedures
  • Support project handoffs to ensure clarity and smooth execution

Job requirements

  • 7 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial, industrial, and/or low-voltage construction
  • Deep knowledge of NEC standards, construction methods, and electrical systems
  • Proven track record of leading successful estimates for medium to large-scale projects
  • Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, ConEst, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, specifications, and one-lines
  • Excellent organizational and mathematical skills with close attention to detail
  • Experience juggling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills

Preferred

  • Electrical License
  • High school diploma or equivalent
