What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Journeyman- Telluride, CO position at Hi Power Electric?
The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, multifamily, and commercial environments while ensuring compliance with local and national codes. If needed, housing will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train and mentor apprentices.
- Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, control systems, and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical testing instruments.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other trades.
- Complete daily reports, work orders, and documentation as required.
Requirements:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License
- Minimum 4 years of field experience in electrical systems installation and repair.
- Solid understanding of electrical code regulations (NEC and local codes).
- Ability to work independently and in teams on construction sites or service calls.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- OSHA 10/30 card is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
- NFPA 70E Certification
Working Environment:
- Will work on active construction sites.
- May require overtime, weekends, and travel between job sites
- Must wear appropriate PPE and always enforce safety rules.
- Moderate noise level.
