The company’s automotive center is in Rochester Hills, Michigan which consists of finance, sales, engineering, testing, and program management, and will serve as the Test Technician II.
position Summary
Test Technician II is a professional responsible for rigorously testing and evaluating the performance, reliability, and safety of vehicles and vehicle components. They work collaboratively with engineers and designers to ensure that vehicles meet industry standards and customer expectations. They assume this responsibility with limited guidance and mentorship from their peers to accurately procure needed data for designed specifications. This position requires a multifaceted knowledge of multiple testing parameters of Hi-Lex products.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Possess listening/Learning skills

- Builds, Assembles, Verifies and Maintains set-up of test fixture
- Instrumentation and Data Acquisition: Instrumentation of test components with strain gauges, load cells, and other sensors, and utilizing data acquisition systems to collect accurate vehicle data during specific functional test conditions.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately completing technical reports, test results, and other necessary documentation, and communicating findings to engineering teams.
- Basic understanding and knowledge to carry out various tests, including:
Durability testing.
Performance testing.
Squeak and rattle testing.
Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) testing.
Environmental testing.
- Promotes an associate relations environment that is consistent with long term management objectives

Education
- This position requires a high school diploma.
- Formal Technical Training is preferred but not required.
- An Associate degree in Automotive Technology or a related field is preferred.
Functional Experience
- Technical Proficiency: A comparative comprehension of automotive systems, mechanical aptitude, knowledge of how different components and subsystems work together, and familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Median knowledge of electricity and measuring equipment
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in performing tests and inspections, understanding that even minor oversights can lead to significant consequences.
- Continuous learning
Industry Experience
- 4 years in automotive and/or manufacturing industry experience is preferred
Core Competencies
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of automotive systems and components.
- Proficiency in test fixture setup, instrumentation (strain gauges, load cells, sensors), and data acquisition systems.
- Ability to perform durability, performance, NVH, environmental, and related functional testing.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems and use of diagnostic/measuring equipment.
