What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Test Technician II position at Hi-Lex Controls?
Essential Functions:
- Assists assembly of prototype products which meet customer specifications and delivery requirements with minor
assistance. - Develop test methods with minor assistance, Set up and test product. Interpret results. Assist in Root causing
test failures / issues. - Writes test reports and Communicates test issues and results to Engineer on a timely basis.
- Fabricates, Builds, Assembles, Verifies and Maintains set-up of test fixture.
- Builds, Assembles, Verifies and Maintains set-up of test fixture.
- Supports Engineers and other Lab Technicians to develop products, test methods, fixtures which meet customer
and Hi-Lex requirements. - Improve processes to manufacture components for product build and test fixtures.
- Assist in the selection of new equipment.
- Maintain & repair, build / test equipment as required.
- Maintains schedule for validation projects.
- Improve processes to manufacture components for product build and test fixtures.
- Promotes an associate relations environment that is consistent with long term management objectives.

Qualifications:
Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:

Ability to read engineering drawings preferred.

2 year experience preferred.

Basic knowledge of electricity and measuring equipment.

Basic knowledge of the properties of a variety of construction materials.

PC skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Lab environment with noise from machinery. Risk of injury from test equipment malfunctions or careless use.

Exposed to high and low temperatures from environmental chambers. Risk of injury from flying metal, sparks and sharp edges.
